Roles List View

The Tendo access control system offers a fine-grained framework of permissions that enables administrators to grant users precisely the roles and permissions required for their tasks within the system.

Understanding Roles

Roles serve as collections of permissions required to carry out a common function in a Tendo app. A role can be assigned to multiple users.

Conversely, a user in Tendo must be assigned at least one role, but can be given multiple roles. A user who is assigned multiple roles has the combined set of permissions from all the roles assigned to them.

Tendo has predefined standard roles to facilitate the initial roles setup process. These offer a helpful starting point for understanding how permissions are grouped and the permissions necessary for specific functions.

Tendo-defined roles are categorized into two main groups:

  • Feature Set Roles - These roles grant a specific set of permissions tailored to perform functions within a particular feature.
  • Persona Roles - Persona roles encompass a broader range of permissions, aggregating permissions from multiple features to cater to specific personas, such as System Administrator or CDI Specialist. These can include group roles, which combine multiple feature set roles into one persona role.

Administrators also can tailor permissions beyond the predefined roles by creating custom roles that grant users access to custom objects, fields, or user interfaces that a specific healthcare organization may need.

To manage roles, log in to Atrium and navigate in the upper left dropdown menu to Tools. Choose Access on the left navigation bar.

Make sure that the Roles tab is selected. Under this tab, you can view a list of both predefined Tendo roles and custom ones. Under each role’s name, you can see whether the role is an individual or group role and whether it is an internal Tendo user’s role or an external customer organization’s role. On the right is a colored tab that tells you whether this role is a Tendo-defined role or a custom one.
