Applications Permissions

The second tab in a role’s detail view in Access is Applications.

You can assign to that role access to specific Tendo applications or parts of those applications that users with the role will need.

In this example for a Roles Manager role, you can see a list of Tendo Applications under the Applications tab. Next to each application in the list is a toggle switch that you can click to turn on if you want to provide this role with permission to use an application. For this role, the Tools toggle switch is on because Roles Managers need to manage roles in the Tools app.

Click on the application’s name to expand it and display a list of features and subfeatures within that app. These also have toggle switches that you can turn on to provide access to some of those features.

In this example, the Roles Manager has been given permission to use the Access section of the Tools app. If a role is given permission to use every part of a feature as in the example below, you don’t have to toggle on all of the subfeatures.

Note: If an application is dependent on certain object permissions, you’ll also need to set those for the role in order for users with the role to be able to use the application. For example, for a user to use QDI Reports, they must have not only the QDI Manager role which gives them access to the QDI application but also object permission for the  Report, ReportDatasource, and TabularReportConfiguration objects. Otherwise, the reports feature in QDI won’t work for them.
