Intro to Insights Explorer
The Insights Explorer dashboard enables its users to view and report on their care quality trends. The dashboard focuses on how well a healthcare organization’s facilities and providers are documenting specific patient comorbidity opportunities.
How does Insights Explorer work?
Using encounter level data provided by hospital systems, our proprietary Insights engine identifies opportunities for specific Elixhauser conditions to be documented. The engine also identifies when comorbidity documentation was missing compared to when the documentation was present. This information feeds the Quality Dashboard, which consists of three charts depending on your role:
- Summary of Comorbidity Opportunities
- Comorbidity Opportunities by Specialty
- Provider Scorecard
Who uses Insights Explorer
Hospital Admins - The Hospital Administrator role should be assigned to hospital system level executives such as system CEOs, CMOs, and Director of Quality whose responsibilities may include ensuring patients receive the highest level of care, reporting on the overall organization, and tracking overall performance of physicians across the system.
The dashboard gives Hospital Administrators system-level visibility into metrics across all of their healthcare system’s facilities and providers. The dashboard leverages patient data that indicates what percentage of comorbidities providers have accurately identified and missed, based on indicators in patients' data.
Facility Admins - The Facility Administrator role should be assigned to facility level executives such as facility CEOs, facility Project Managers, or facility Service Line Chairs whose responsibility is to report on the care and quality trends at their specific facility or facilities.
The dashboard gives Facility Administrators visibility into the same type of data, but for their facility only. For example, a Facility Admin at a specific location that is part of a larger healthcare system can only see data for their location.
Providers - The Insights Provider role should be assigned to individual providers or physicians. Providers can see the Provider Scorecard chart, which will contain only their metrics.
Each of these roles must have log-in credentials for QDI, and one of the above roles with appropriate permissions. To be assigned a role and permissions, contact Tendo Support.
Healthcare organizations have the option of using the Insights application along with Tendo’s QDI application, or either one alone.
